What Happens If….I do not have a policy and my employee is injured?

In many states, it is not a legal requirement to purchase a workers’ compensation policy for a domestic employee.  Even though we encourage clients to purchase a policy, they sometimes take the risk.  Over the years of our program we have had scenarios occur where a client’s nanny, senior caregiver, or housekeeper have been injured while working.  If there is a policy in place, the path to making the employee whole again is pretty clear.
